Telecommunications History Group Archives

Our physical archives in Denver, Colorado, contains an extensive collection of photographs, historical documents, telephone directories, and memorabilia.

The THG Archives is open to visits by outside researchers on Wednesdays from 8 am to noon, by appointment only.

By scheduling a visit, you agree to the following policies:

  • No food or drinks are allowed in the research area.
  • No pens may be used while performing research. We will provide you with a pencil if needed.
  • To protect the documents and photographs, you may not wear gloves or use hand sanitizer while handling archive materials. Please wash your hands frequently using soap and water instead.
  • A fee of $20 per four-hour session (plus any copying charges) will apply. This should be paid at the time of your visit.

    At Telecommunications History Group, we’re quite proud of our archives collection. Our physical, telecommunications history archive is located in Denver, Colorado in a secure building near the old Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company Headquarters. The archive collection includes more than 80,000 photos and slides, numerous books, memorabilia, and publications related to telecommunications technology, business, culture, people, and architecture. We have a volunteer archivist on our team in Denver, and we take great pride in maintaining our professional research archive.

    We provide research services to individuals and companies for a wide variety of purposes, including legal research, genealogy, business, and more.
