In 1984, Sol Trujillo was appointed U S WEST Vice President for Operations. At age 32, he was the youngest officer appointed by U S WEST and the first Hispanic. He advanced to President and CEO in 1998, becoming America’s first native-born Latino to serve as CEO of a Fortune 200 company.
